"February Frenzy" Book Bracket

[Upbeat Music Swells]


Hello folks, and welcome to the long-anticipated ‘February Frenzy’ book bracket! We bring you a fun way to incorporate books into your daily life. We chose 8 of our favorite books from across various genres to compete head-to-head to claim the crown of Imagine We Could’s favorite book contest.


Imagine March Madness, but instead of featuring your favorite sports teams, it features your favorite authors and pieces of literature!

Here’s how it works: Held at a booth in the Carlson School Atrium, we will have a QR code set up linked to a voting page. Students will be shown a bracket of 8 popular books. They will them have the option to vote for their favorite book(s) during two, 20 minute periods. Finally, at the end of the event, we will reveal the big winner!

Embark on an amazing literary journey as we unveil a great selection of 8 outstanding books, each celebrated for its remarkable success and favorability amongst our generation. Cue the drumroll and introduce the nominees!


[Suspenseful Music]


Meet our contestants:


Contestant #1 is The Hunger Games, the first in the dystopian series by Suzanne Collins where young tributes must battle to the death in a government controlled society.


Contestant #2 is Divergent, a novel by Veronica Roth where Tris discovers her true identity in a society based on personality traits, threatening the stability of the the world.


Contestant #3 is The Fault In Our Stars, the tragic romance novel by John Green. Two teenagers navigate the challenges of living with cancer through unexpected connection and try to find a quest for meaning.


Contestant #4 is It Ends with Us, is a romance novel by Colleen Hoover where Lily, the protagonist, must make difficult choices in her relationships and love life.


Contestant #5 is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the novel that launched one of the most popular franchises of all time, revolving around a powerful young Wizard, Harry Potter.


Contestant #6 is Lord of the Rings, the pioneer of the fantasy genre written by J. R. R. Tolkien, where a dangerous quest is taken to destroy the one ring and defeat the dark lord.


Contestant #7 is Twilight. A romance fantasy with a love triangle amongst enemies and their shared love interest, Bella.


Contestant #8 is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. A true classic in the mind of Gen-Z. Need I say more? I think we all know this one.
